Notes
- Orville Hensley, son of August and Sarah Perkins Oldfather, was born July 13, 1900 near Wadena, Iowa. He graduated from Fayette High School in 1917 and then attended Dubuque University and Upper Iowa University, from which he graduated in 1923.
On July 18, 1924, he was united in marriage with Ethel Alice Miles. The couple moved to southern Arizona where Orville received his master's degree from the University of Arizona. He taught at several high schools until 1947, at which time he became superintendent of schools at Marana, Arizona. In 1957 they moved back to Fayette where Orville farmed for five years and then went back to teaching at Arlington and Fayette high schools. Ethel died on September 10, 1968k and Orville continued teaching until his retirement in 1970.
It was on July 10, 1971, that he was united in marriage with Viola Olson Skinner at the Stavanger Lutheran Church. The couple resided in Fayette. Viola's death occurred on September 3, 1987, and Orville resided at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette where his death occurred on Thursday afternoon, February 18, 1888. He was 87 years old.
Orville is survived by one son, Miles of Benson, Arizona; two daughters, Mars. Harold (Clarice) Clough of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Mrs. Howard (Beth) Gladden of Marana, Arizona; eleven grand-children;eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Milo of Fayette; three stepsons, Kenneth Skinner of Ossian, Dale Skinner of Princeton and Lowell Skinner of Clarion; and one stepdaughter, Mrs. James (Lorraine) Macken of Readlyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; and one son, Robert Craig. Source: Funeral Memorial Card.
